What is AI model?

An AI model is the brain behind GPT Breeze that processes your requests and generates responses. Think of it as the engine that powers all the smart features in the extension.

Why I need one?

Just like a car needs fuel to run, GPT Breeze needs an AI model to work. Without it, the extension can't perform any of its functions.

There are two types of AI models in GPT Breeze

1. API model (Bring your own key)

This is our recommended option where you connect directly to provider servers (e.g. OpenAI) using your own API key (see Get an OpenAI API Key).

You can create new custom model (See Use custom model)

Benefits:

• ⚡ Fast responses
• 🔒 Private: messages sent anonymously
• ✅ Officially supported

Drawbacks:

• 💰 Small usage cost (See How much OpenAI API cost? )

2. Web session

This option uses your existing ChatGPT browser tab to process requests. You'll need a ChatGPT account (free or paid).
